Artworks by Portuguese artist Paula Rego on display at National Museum Cardiff

Two important artworks by Portugese-born artist Paula Rego (b.1935) will go on display at National Museum Cardiff from 2 September 2021. The works have been acquired by the Derek Williams Trust for their collection in partnership with Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales.

Amgueddfa Cymru awarded TEFAF museum restoration fund to restore priceless Manet

The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF) is pleased to announce that Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales is to receive €20,000, as the second recipient of this year’s TEFAF Museum Restoration Fund, an annual grant created in support of the international art community’s vital work to preserve artistic and cultural heritage.

Dinosaur footprint, which sheds new light on how dinosaurs used to walk goes on display at National Museum Cardiff

A well-preserved dinosaur footprint discovered by 4-year-old Lily Wilder at Bendricks Bay, near Barry in south Wales in January 2021, will go on display at National Museum Cardiff. The exhibition, titled Lily’s Fossil Footprint, will be on display in National Museum Cardiff’s main hall from 21 July. Th exhibition is generously supported by players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
