Event:Aber Valley Quilters – quilting demonstration in Gweithdy

St Fagans National Museum of History
Finished

Come and watch as quilters from the Aber Valley and artist Jesse Briton (HOLM) attempt to create a new version of the ‘Abertridwr star’ – a quilting pattern unique to the Aber Valley.

Following a residency in the local community, this event marks the finale of HOLM’s commission for UNDERCURRENTS – On Our Doorstep, exploring the relationship between women and work in the Aber Valley.

UNDERCURRENTS – On Our Doorstep is a partnership project between Undercurrents – Arts in the Aber Valley community group, Caerphilly County Borough Council Arts Development Team and Addo.  The project is funded by an Arts Council of Wales Connect & Flourish grant, with additional funding and in-kind support from Caerphilly County Borough Council, the Integrated Wellbeing Network Gwent and Aber Valley Community Council.
