Event:Amgueddfa Cymru Producer Pride Workshop - 'Broken Yet Beautiful'

Workshop by Apekshit Sharma (Amgueddfa Cymru Producer)

To celebrate pride month this year, some of our amazing Amgueddfa Cymru Producers (ACPs) will be hosting Pride themed workshops across three of our museums this June.

"Hi! I'm Apekshit, a multidisciplinary artist and Amgueddfa Cymru Producer. My work explores repair, identity, and resilience through community-led creativity. One way I do this is through Broken Yet Beautiful — a workshop that invites people to mend broken ceramics using fast-drying clay, reflecting on healing both materially and emotionally."

"This Pride Month, I’m bringing the workshop to the National Waterfront Museum, creating a space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to reflect, express, and connect. Inspired by Welsh LGBTQ+ histories in the museum’s collections, it honours queer resilience and the beauty in our brokenness — our stories, bodies, and identities that continue to endure."

"Pride, to me, is about visibility, healing, and reclaiming space — in society and within ourselves. Through this workshop, I hope to hold space for reflection, creativity, and conversation. Like the objects we piece back together, our histories and lives are powerful — even in fragments. This is how we make Pride personal, meaningful, and lasting."
