Event:Big Pit's Big 40th Birthday

Join us for a day of celebration as we revisit the past, enjoy the present and look forward to the next 40 years of Big Pit.

Enjoy performances from local rock band Full Dark, No Stars, Beaufort Male Voice Choir & Blaenavon Intergenerational Group, an artisan food, craft & gift market supplied by Green Top Events, children’s craft activities, speeches, the world-famous underground tour and of course a birthday cake! 

Programme:

10am-4pm – Artisan food, drink and craft market 

10am-4pm – Children’s craft activities

12pm-12.20pm – Opening speeches -Dai Price, Head of Museum Big Pit & Janice Lane, Director of Gallery Development and Visitor Experience Amgueddfa Cymru-Museum Wales)

12.30pm -1.15pm – Performance: Full Dark No Stars

1.20pm-1.30pm – Talk:  Ceri Thompson - Curator, Big Pit

1.35pm-1.45pm – Performance: Blaenavon Intergenerational  Group

1.50pm-1.55pm – Birthday Cake Cutting

2.15pm-3pm – Performance: Beaufort Male Voice Choir

3.05pm-3.25pm – Talk: Sian James – Former MP for Swansea East

3.30pm-4.15pm – Performance: Full Dark, No Stars
