Join our Supernatural Storyteller in his cosy cottage for ancient Tales of Welsh Folklore’s mysterious ‘Mine Monsters’. 

Learn all about the mystical Tylwyth Teg with stories of the curious Coblynau and the greedy Coal Giant. 

Following your mystical storytelling session, create your own ‘Fantasy Folklore Map of Wales’, learning about mischievous mermaids, ancient toads, cursed boars and of course, dragons!  

Additional Information:

Storytelling sessions are pre-booked timed sessions, 45 minutes long. However, you can complete your Fantasy Folklore Map any time between 11am & 4pm.  

Due to the limitations of space we are only able to allocate space for a maximum of one non-participating person to accompany each participating child aged 3+. 

Non-participating people do not need to purchase a ticket for themselves; however, they will not be able to participate in craft activities.

All pushchairs must be left outside. 

Ticketholders should arrive promptly and no more than 15 minutes before their allocated start time. Please allow up to 15 minutes to walk from the Museum car park/main building 

Weather-appropriate clothing should be worn. 

Your ticket price does not include parking. Car parking charge is £5 per day. 

All tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative date or event.  Please ensure that you are 100% happy with your choices before booking. 

Assistance dogs only for this event please.

Parking

If you are arriving by car you will need to pay on arrival. £5 per day. FREE for disabled badge holders and motorbikes. This charge is for parking only – entry to the Museum remains free.

Eat, drink, shop

  • Our coffee shop serves a small range of hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks. 
  • The Museum shop will be open during your visit.
  • You are welcome to bring a picnic to the Museum.
