Event:Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most cherished celebrations in the Chinese calendar. Marking the harvest season, it honours the full moon as a symbol of family reunion, harmony and abundance.

This autumn, we invite you to experience this beautiful cultural tradition in the heart of Cardiff. Through music, dance, crafts, games and much more, we will explore the richness of Chinese heritage and share joyful moments across generations.

What to expect:

• Live performances - From the thundering rhythm of the Lion and Dragon Dances to the elegance of instrument performances, enjoy traditional music and dance that bring the ancient stories to life.   
• Traditional Chinese Craft Activities - Try your hand at writing your name in Chinese calligraphy, lantern making, etc. which are fun for all ages and skills levels.  
• A mini marketplace – Browse a colourful selection of crafts, accessories and decorations inspired by Chinese culture.   
• Dress-up corner - Pop on traditional Chinese clothing that is perfect for a selfie.  
• Qigong taster session - Experience Taichi or Ba Duan Jin, a gentle and mindful movement practice rooted in Chinese health tradition.  
• Tea tasting station - Sip a selection of Chinese teas, completely free for all to enjoy.

The event will be delivered in partnership with Chinese In Wales Association (CIWA) and is free for all to attend. Come along and let the full moon bring us together.

• 茶香雅座：免费品鉴中国茶道，让您在茶香中放松身心。
