Course:Ffasiwn-Making Workshop with Ffian Jones

This August, join us for a special series of creative workshops for the whole family alongside our exciting new photography exhibition: Ffasiwn

Join fashion designer and facilitator Ffian Jones as you delve deep into the art of fashion-making, inviting you to get creative with sustainable clothing by designing your own creations. 

You will learn ...  

  • The ins and outs of fashion design and garment customization 
  • More sustainable approaches to clothing and textile reuse 
  • How to develop your ideas from concept through to creation with styling and visual storytelling! 

Suitable for ages 8 – 11 and their families, this is the perfect way to get creative and inspired this summer.

About Ffian

Ffian Jones studied Fashion at the Royal College of Art before working within the fashion industry. She now teaches Fashion while also working across film and television as a costume designer, contributing to a range of creative projects. 

Important Information 

  • All materials will be provided for. Please note that personal electrical items, such as sewing machines, are not permitted. 
  • Suitable for ages 8 - 11 and an accompanying adult
  • Tickets to this event do not include entry to the “It’s Called Ffasiwn” exhibition. 
  • The workshop will take place in Clore Learning Space. Visitor Experience assistants will be on hand to guide you from the Main Hall. 
  • All tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for an alternative date or event.  Please ensure that you are 100% happy with your choices before booking.

Free Entry

Amgueddfa Cymru belongs to everyone, and admission to the Museum is free thanks to funding from the Welsh Government. 

Booking a free day ticket in advance will ensure you receive key information and updates before your visit, helping you to make the most of your experience.

Admission is free, however a charge may apply for some exhibitions, events and activities.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. For safety reasons, we reserve the right to conduct bag searches when entering the Museum​.

 Accessibility

If you prefer to visit when we’re less crowded, there are usually fewer people on our site from 3pm each day.

Access Guide

 Parking

A visitor car park is situated behind the Museum, off Museum Avenue. Parking costs £6.50 and can be paid at the parking machines in the car park. 

Parking is free to blue badge holders. Disabled parking is also available at the front of the Museum, on Gorsedd Gardens Road.

 Eat, Drink, Shopping

  • The Museum café in the Main Hall is open every day 10am-4pm offering a range of drinks and snacks.

 Multifaith Room

Reserve time in National Museum Cardiff's multifaith room.

This is a clean and quiet area for reflection, contemplation, and worship.

Please be aware that this space may be shared with other members of the public and must be kept clean.

Privacy screens are available if required.
