Event:Cardiff Half Marathon Early Opening
We’ll be opening our doors early on the morning of the Cardiff Half Marathon, for those who wish to have a calmer experience before the race. Tickets will give you exclusive access to the museum, and a comfortable place to relax before the event begins. Whether you are taking part in the race or supporting a friend or family member, our quiet and calm environment could be just the start you need.
From 7am, you can wander through our natural history galleries or simply relax with a cuppa. Our café will be serving hot and cold drinks and breakfast rolls until 10am.
For children, we’ll be running a banner making activity in the Clore Discovery Centre to help them cheer on those taking part in the race. This is a free activity, but slots of are limited. Please book your tickets for these sessions once you have added your admission tickets to your basket.
All our usual facilities will be open, including accessible toilets, changing places facility, multifaith room (pre-booking available) and breastfeeding room.
*We will be open as normal to the general public from 10am. Please note our art galleries will be closed between 7am and 10am.

Admission
Free Entry
Amgueddfa Cymru belongs to everyone, and admission to the Museum is free thanks to funding from the Welsh Government.
Booking a free day ticket in advance will ensure you receive key information and updates before your visit, helping you to make the most of your experience.
Admission is free, however a charge may apply for some exhibitions, events and activities.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. For safety reasons, we reserve the right to conduct bag searches when entering the Museum.

If you prefer to visit when we’re less crowded, there are usually fewer people on our site from 3pm each day.
Access GuideParking
A visitor car park is situated behind the Museum, off Museum Avenue. Parking costs £6.50 and can be paid at the parking machines in the car park.
Parking is free to blue badge holders. Disabled parking is also available at the front of the Museum, on Gorsedd Gardens Road.

- The Museum café in the Main Hall is open every day 10am-4pm offering a range of drinks and snacks.

Reserve time in National Museum Cardiff's multifaith room.
This is a clean and quiet area for reflection, contemplation, and worship.
Please be aware that this space may be shared with other members of the public and must be kept clean.
Privacy screens are available if required.
