Display:The Living Canvas: Dressing a Century
Drop-in to see historical dress interpreted and created from portraits in our collection by Costume Construction students from Coleg y Cymoedd.
Paintings that adorn the walls of the art galleries will be brought to life after months of historical research and detailed work by the students.
The students will talk about their costumes in front of their chosen portraits in the art galleries at:-
2pm Catwalk and judging in Gallery 4.
The BA (Hons) in Costume Construction at Coleg y Cymoedd is a three year degree course awarded by the University of South Wales. Students study both historical and contemporary costume, and develop many specialist skills such as pattern cutting, costume construction and surface embellishment.
