Slop-bowl, soft-paste 'duck egg' porcelain with a green translucency; standing on a straight sided, flanged foot rim, with rounded sides slightly flaring at lip; transfer-printed and filled in enamel in the Kakiemon pattern - on one side, a stylised asymmetrical arrangement of red and yellow flowers, with blue, green, and turquoise foliage; on the other, a single sprig flanked by a butterfly and a bird, and a sprig inside the bowl; a gilt band to the foot rim and lip.
