Cup and saucer, bone china, the cup with a foot ring, rounded open body and plain rim, plain loop handle, the saucer with a foot ring and open, rounded sides; the cup and saucer a decorated with the 'Fitzroy' (or V601) pattern, the cup has a plain ring of ochre enamel at the foot and , around the body, stylised leaves or feathers outlined in black against a freely-painted grey ground, surrounded by alterate circles of dots in red and yellow, and amorphous 'cloud-like' motifs in blue, these are framed by sweeping areas of vivid plum-coloured lustre, bordered with a simple black line of enamel, that extends to the rim, this is broken up just beneath the rim by a band of ovals with cross-hatching separated by dots, painted in reserve with ochre enamel, the pattern is repeated in a slightly different configuration on the saucer.
