Medieval pottery jug
Bristol ware Coarse sandy fabric with some sparse large inclusions. Dull cream/very light brown with a pale grey core. Part of a rim and attached strap handle. The handle is dished or C-shaped in section, with the open/recessed surface facing outwards. Running vertically along the recess is a thick strip/ band of clay, pinched/cut at regualr intervals. An applied band of clay sits beneath the rim and has been faceted for decorative effect. Pale green glaze on the exterior surface, unevenly applied. Missing from outer handle surface and the jug rim.
