used to scrape oysters from sea bed; consisting of iron frames 2 foot square with sharp knife blade or rake inclined downwards and forwards to facilitate scraping action; net bag of strong twine at one end and of chain at the bottom attached to the metal frame to catch the oysters as they were scraped from the sea bed
