Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Swatch of red woven wool fabric commissioned for 1969 Investiture chairs and supplied by David Lewis Ltd, Cambrian Mills, Drefach. This swatch is the finished treated woollen fabric, after shrinking and silicone treatment, and is a more vibrant red colour to the untreated fabric. 4,600 chairs were produced for the Investiture ceremony held at Caernarfon Castle on 1 July 1969. The fabric was also used for the 4,000 souvenir cushions produced.
