Teapot and cover, hard-paste porcelain, baluster body, up-turned spout moulded with leaves and scrolling, scroll handle, slightly domed circular cover with applied bud; decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt, on one side with two figures seated on a barrel in a landscape, tree to left, house to right, one wearing a blue jacket, the other an orange jacket, both wearing hats with feathers, surrounded by a quatrefoil gilt cartouche, opposite two figures standing in a landscape, one holding a stick, the other with his arm outstretched, house, trees and bushes behind, surrounded by a gilt quatrefoil cartouche, eight mixed scattered sprigs, border of purple scaling with gilt scroll outline and foliate work around shoulders, around foot rim, around handle and spout, gilding to handle and spout; cover decorated with four sprigs and a border of purple scaling with gilt outline around rim.
