Nantymwyn lead mine, photograph
Photograph captioned 'Nantymwyn Lead Mine. This lead mine was opened during the last quarter of the 18th Century by the Earl of Cawdor and for many years it yielded rich deposits of lead ore. The mine was finally closed during the 1930s. Among the numerous ruins on the site are those of a small engine house built of stone and a chimney stack alongside. They stand near the mouth of a shaft long since filled in.' Mounted on card. Made for the exhibition RECORDING WALES 3 in 1970/1971.
