Ewer and basin

Ewer, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a spreading foot with a border of moulded leaves around it, the body flaring out to a bulbous shoulder with further borders of moulded leaves around the lower body and shoulder, concave neck with scalloped lip-rim and raised elongated spout, loop handle with scrolled foliate moulding at the terminals; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to either side of the exterior body a riverside landscape with figures, scattered floral sprigs around the rest of the exterior body, foot and neck, gilt lines around the foot, lower body, shoulder and lip-rim, the handle picked out in gilt. The foot-rim chipped. Basin, hard-paste porcelain, oval shape with straight-sided foot-rim and curving sides, a scalloped edge to the rim; finely painted in polychrome enamels with around the sides of the well two riverside landscapes with figures separated by two floral sprays, scattered floral sprigs around the well, gilt lines around the edge of the well, the rim and the foot-rim. The well cracked.
