Mustard pot and cover
Mustard pot, hard-paste porcelain, rococo form with spreading foot, bulbous lower body, bulbous shoulder and cylindrical flaring neck, a semi-circular indent to one side of the lip-rim, the front of the exterior body moulded with to the upper part a leaf-shaped panel and to the lower part an elongated oval panel enclosed by raised scrolls, double-curved scrolled loop handle with foliate moulding to the upper part, round high domed cover with to one side a kidney-shaped panel enclosed by raised foliate moulding and scrolls, a band of raised moulded scrolls continues around the rest of the sides of the cover, to the top of the cover a rose finial with leaves and a stem, part of which has broken off; finely painted in puce with to the lower panel on the front of the exterior body of the mustard pot a landscape with sailing boats on the sea, buildings and figures, a further miniature landscape to the panel on the cover, floral sprigs to the upper panel on the front of the exterior body of the mustard pot and to the rest of the exterior sides of the mustard pot, the raised moulded areas and the handle picked out in gilt, gilt bands around the foot-rim and lip-rim of the mustard pot and around the rim of the cover, the rose finial painted in purple and green. The foot-rim and lip-rim of the mustard pot and the underside of the cover are slightly chipped.
