Pot, shaving
Shaving-pot, earthenware, drum-shaped, rounded slightly waisted foot-rim, cylindrical sides, shelving inwards at the shoulder to a short lip-rim, gadrooned edge to the foot-rim and shoulder, a crescent-shaped shelf to the interior of the mug with a curving partition to one side of the shelf enclosing an oval aperture opening into the interior of the mug; transfer-printed in blue with to the interior of the mug the 'Troubadour' pattern showing a seated young male figure playing a mandolin with a gabled building behind and distant mountains, the scene enclosed within a cartouche of scrolling foliage.
