CANVAS, embroidered with coloured wools in cross stitch. At the top in five rows, interspersed with bands of geometrical ornament are capital and small letters of the alphabet, numerals to 8, and the following inscriptions: "God is Love ". "What is a / Home without a mother". At the bottom is the inscription "Margaret Mary Chrisp. Aged 13 / Years. 1893. Newburn". Together with heart, crown, bird and border designs. There is a narrow stripe border.
