Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Centurial stone. Building stone of coarse red sandstone, 540mm x 150mm, found in 1927 in two parts; the left hand part was lying loose at the north entrance (F), the right-hand part was built into the seventh course of the arena wall, 9 feet north of entrance H. The lettering might belong to the late first or early second century. The original is now in Caerleon Museum, with a cast placed in situ of the right hand part. This stone is referenced by Susan Cooper in the final book of her Dark is Rising series, 'Silver on the Tree' (1977), as the place where Will hides the signs in the past.
