Linen ground embroidered with coloured silks in corss and satin stitches. Zigzag border outlined with two straight lines. Consists of five rows containing alphabet, numerals, and lower case alphabet. Rows separated by decorative lines of stitching. Maker's name and date outlined by saw tooth lines of satin stitch. Inscribed: 'Mary Ann Chadwell 1834'.
