View showing the S.S. BLUE JACKET dry docked on Penarth Pontoon showing the hole made by a torpedo on 18 March 1915. The light patch shows the dimensions of the temporary timber bulk-head placed over the damage to enable the steamer to complete her voyage to Cardiff via London. Mounted on card.
S.S. BLUE JACKET was built at Sunderland in 1904 for George Hallet & Co., Cardiff. She was sold to a Tyneside Shipping Company in 1915 and renamed TYNEMEDE.
