Plate, earthenware with clear glaze, low foot ring and cushion-moulded profile, plain rim; transfer-printed around the flange with the 'Alphabet' pattern by Eric Ravilious, comprising sixteen monochrome images representing different letters of the alphabet, they comprise, moving in a clockwise direction: whale, cloud, fish, jug, eggs, indian, matches, leaf, volcano, globe, bird, umbrella, xylophone, (?)diver, chair, night.
