Small fragment of mouth and side of socketed axe of unknown type. Mouth of axe has a narrow outsplayed mouth moulding 4.0mm wide, resembling a trumpet form. Curvature of fragment suggests a slender and narrow mouthed form, with resemblance to axe fragment 11, although no collar underhang apparent. A noticeable longitudinal ridge along this fragment probably represents a face edge. Fragment distorted during breakage, fragment side is bent outwards with concave curve, whilst mouth top has been flattened in on itself, creating a small crack on the mouth moulding. Green patina with lighter green carbonate concretions.
