Adam, Robert (1728-92)
Sauceboat, silver, oval, standing on a spreading stepped and gadrooned foot, the spool-shaped stem with a guilloche band round the middle and gadrooned at the top, the bowl gadrooned round its lower part and with a guilloche border below the out-turned horizontal rim, the rim with an egg-and-dart border running round the edge and the edge of the pouring spout, within this an oval beaded band that bridges the spout, the handle in the form of two ribbon-tied twisted and scrolled vine leaves, engraved on one side the arms of Williams-Wynn impaling Grenville within a simple husk cartouche.
