Cup and saucer
Pollard, William (1803 - 1854)
Cup and saucer, bone china with whitish translucency, first gadroon shape, the cup with rounded foot ring, the sides curving out sharply at the bottom then more gradually towards the rim, the rim undulating and with gadroon moulding, the handle formed from two C-scrolls, the saucer with slightly tapered foot ring, splayed sides and an undulating gadroon-moulded rim in six lobes, a raised ring around the well; decorated with pattern 3962, pink and white briar roses against against a pale beige-yellow ground, the gadroon moulding gilded, so too the ring round the well of the saucer, the handle and foot ring of the cup, a gilt leaf motif on the outside of the handle.
