Teapot, hard-paste porcelain, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, globular body, curving spout terminating in an animal head, scrolled loop handle with double-curve and foliate-moulding at the shoulder and a raised thumb-spur, round domed cover with to the top a pear finial with leaves and stem, to either side of the teapot are applied raised moulded sprays of Chinese-style flowers; finely painted in polychrome enamels with around the top of the exterior sides of the teapot and the top of the cover sprays and sprigs of naturalistic flowers, a very worn gilt edge to the lip-rim of the teapot, the handle and the spout picked out in gilt, the pear finial painted in reds, oranges, yellows and greens. The cover broken and repaired.
