Doll
One of three miniature bisque headed baby dolls (Bye-Lo types) ready for bed in a straw basket with two handles. The dolls are covered by one silk and net quilt and two cotton sheets. The dolls legs and bodies are made of straw stuffed linen bags, with ceramic heads and hands. The dolls have blue glass sleeping eyes with black eyelashes and eyebrows.
Clothing: Long, cream linen night dresses. One doll with lace bonnet
Basket & bedding: They lie on one cotton pillow edged with triangles of lace work and a larger pillow with a cotton case. The inner padding of this larger pillow crinkles to the touch-indicating it contains a media such as paper? The base of the basket is lined on the edges with purple silk and the bottom is lined with the same cotton fabric that made the pillow case. The top edge and outside of the basket is lined with net and a cotton under skirt. These act as a valance to the basket. The fabric has been gathered into flounces. There are two lines of purple and beige thread flowers along the top edge that run all the way around the basket.
