Full title - National Coal Board South Wales Area. Visit of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales to St. John's Colliery Maesteg, Friday 24th May 1974. 22 page booklet containing a schedule of the visit, plans of the area as well as surface and underground workings, biography and photographs of 15 N.C.B employees including P.G. Weekes, Area Director, R. Williams, Deputy Director (Operations), C.J. Davies, Area Chief Mining Engineer, A.J. Reed, Colliery Manager, T.H. Bumford, Chariman N.U.M, and P.J. Stafford, Lodge Secretary N.U.M. Also includes photographs showing a one hundred ton bunker, loading point at pit bottom, main gate roadhead in the S1 district, S1 Face from tail gate, ranging drum shearer on S1 Face, main six feet seam intake, and eight photographs of Prince Charles during his visit to the colliery.
