Pot, coffee and cover
Coffee pot, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a rounded spreading waisted foot-rim, pear-shaped body with cylindrical neck and rounded lip-rim, beak spout with to the underside foliate and scale-pattern moulding, double-curved scrolled loop handle with foliate moulding to the shoulder, round domed cover with to the top a finial modelled in the form of a pear with a leaf spreading across the top of the cover, the stem broken off, the cover attached to the coffee pot by a short length of metal chain which is fastened around the handle at one end and around the finial at the other; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to the exterior front of the body of the coffee pot a large rustic landscape with two figures driving cattle, goats and sheep, a towered building and a river, to the top of the cover a smaller rustic landscape with two sheep, around the rest of the exterior body of the coffee pot and the top of the cover scattered floral and foliate sprigs in gilt, the spout and handle picked out in gilt, gilt bands around the lip-rim of the coffee pot and the rim of the cover, the finial painted gilt.
