Royal Navy Junior Rates tropical rig No.6
White cotton Junior Rates Tropical Rig No.6 with blue lapel and collar with white and two narrow blue striped inset near edge and rank badge and one chevron on left arm and engineer's badge on right arm - both badges are blue and white cotton, with plastic zip fastener in front and two buttons at each wrist and with blue tape beading at wrists and all along bottom edge; with label inside right hand pocket reading "Jumper White Drill Seaman's Coat Style 8405-99-633-1421 Size E.5 and maker's name.
H.M.S. GLAMORGAN. County-class destroyer laid down September 1962 and launched 1964 by Vickers-Armstrong, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Commissioned by the Royal Navy in October 1966. She underwent a major arms refit in 1977-79 including construction of accomodation for her on-board Wessex helicopter. SHe had another refit in 1982 following damage sustained by the enemy in the Falklands War. 1986 – Decommissioned, and sold to the Chilean Navy and renamed ALMIRANTE LATORRE, where she served until 1998. She was sold for scrap in 2005 and sank at sea while under tow to be broken up.
