Amulet in a box, with a typed note: 'American (U. S.) Cent carried for luck by a U. S. sailor in the war. 1918'. Acquired by the Museum in 1918 from Edward Lovett, a folklorist and collector from Croydon. Coin has a hole and a red silk ribbon is threaded through the hole and held in place with a knot.
