Teacup and saucer, hybrid-paste porcelain with a pale, golden-orange translucency; cup with curved sides and a loop handle; saucer standing on a straight sided foot rim curving into rounded spreading sides; both painted with two-lobed cartouches on a dark underglaze blue ground, - the cup with four cartouches containing a squirrel, a bouquet of flowers, an orange scallop shell, and a cottage in a landscape, all outlined in gilt, and small gilt rosettes above and below; gilt band above foot rim, gilt lip and gilt handle; the saucer with five cartouches around the edge, containing a bird, a snail shell on a bed of seaweed, two figures in a landscape, and two with flower bouquets; gilt motif in the centre, and gilt lip.
