Jug, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a very short foot-rim, bulbous body tapering inwards at the shoulder to a cylindrical neck, triangular beak spout with a moulded shell to the underside, elaborate scrolled handle, round flat cover with to the centre a finial modelled in the form of a flower bud with a stem and leaves; finely painted in polychrome enamels with around the exterior body of the jug a panoramic landscape with a lake, stone buildings, distant mountains, and a small figure to either side, a smaller landscape to the top of the cover, the underside of the spout painted in blue, purple and yellow and edged in gilt, the handle picked out in puce, purple, blue and gilt, a gilt line around the foot-rim, gilt dentil borders to the exterior lip-rim of the jug and the rim of the cover, the flower bud finial picked out in purple and green.
