Early Medieval lead spindle whorl
Lead spindle whorl with large central perforation. Both surfaces are decorated with cast zig-zag pattern but much of it has been obscured by faulty casting.
Viking Age lead spindle whorl o Llanbedr-goch, Anglesey, north Wales. 850-950 CE. The same technology was used to spin wool for thousands of years.
