Sucrier with cover
Sucrier, earthenware, oval form, standing on a rounded foot-rim, bulbous sides sloping inwards at the shoulder, raised boat-shaped lip-rim, twin scroll handles to either end of the body, oval domed cover, the rim of the cover raised at either end, to the top of the cover the finial is broken off and missing; transfer-printed in sepia with to the exterior sides of the body two large groups of sea shells surrounded by seaweed alternating with two single sea shells surrounded by seaweed, border to the shoulder of the sucrier and the rim of the cover of sea shells surrounded by seaweed, two sprays of seaweed to the sides of the cover, the handles painted in silver lustre, silver lustre edges to the lip-rim of the sucrier and the rim of the cover.
