Howell, James Frederick
(Soldier)
Wool and silk needlework picture depicting the colours of the 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Made in 1890 by James Frederick Howell while serving with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in India. The work was later awarded a Diploma of Merit at the Cardiff Fine Art, Industrial and Maritime Exhibition in 1896.
In gold frame, missing glazing. Glazing has been substituted with a layer of Melinex.
