R.O.D. class locomotive hauling an east-bound train of full wooden-bodied coal wagons. St. Fagans Castle just visible in the background. Standard freight engine during First World War later purchased by G.W.R., the buffer and bracket on the side of the locomotive date the photograph to 1922-23.
