Octagonal jug, in the Gothic Revival taste, cane-coloured stoneware, the exterior smear-glazed, shallow spreading foot, waisted flaring rim and square handle; foot moulded with tracery, the sides with arcaded crocketed lancets, each containing a standing robed figure, the rim with an arcade of cusped arches and leaf ornament, and the handle with bearded masks. The Apostle Jug, design first registered in 1842 by Charles Meigh.
