Tureen with cover
Tureen and cover, porcelain, slightly inset base, spreading foot, oval body with curved bulging sides, upstanding shell-form handles, domed cover with a rococo knop; painted in underglaze blue with a Chinese garden scene on each side comprising a pine tree, peonies, rocks and a pavilion on an island in the background, the handles and knop painted blue, a 'ruyi' border round the foot, a more elaborate border of flowers, scrolls and other motifs round the edge of the cover.
