Gravestone of Sanctinius Exsuperatus
This stone was discovered to the south west of the fortress and had been re-used in a building. This and another gravestone in the museum (accession number: 31.78/26.14) are the only two inscriptions from Roman Britain which record the name Exsuperatus. In all likelihood Sanctinius was related to Tadius and Tadia; he may even have been their father.
