Undated wooden dash churn lid
Half a perforated disc. The irregularly shaped hole is slightly off centre. The disc tapers slightly from the middle towards the edges, which are rounded. Toolmarks on both surfaces show that it was turned but the hole was cut with a chisel or gouge rather than drilled. The most likely function is as a lid of a dash churn. These are commonly found in the later first millenium AD but none have been found from the late prehisotric period.
