Answer book

Jones, Griffith R. (respondent)

Llyfr Ateb Amgueddfa Werin Cymru, 1967, oddi wrth Griffith R. Jones, Deiniolen, yn cynnwys nodiadau ar hanes chwarelwyr cylch Dinorwig o 1600 ymlaen. Anfonwyd Llyfrau Ateb gan Amgueddfa Werin Cymru at unigolion ar draws Cymru er mwyn casglu a chofnodi gwybodaeth am agweddau o ddiwylliant gwerin yn eu hardaloedd yn cynnwys amaeth, crefftau, bwyd, arferion a thafodiaith. Mae’r ymatebion wedi eu hysgrifennu â llaw yn y llyfrau. Roedd y Llyfrau Ateb yn ddilyniant i’r holiaduron a anfonwyd ym 1937.

Welsh Folk Museum Answer Book, 1967, received from Griffith R. Jones, Deiniolen, containing notes on the history of slate workers in the Dinorwig area dating from 1600 onwards. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
