Sampler made in 1865 by Rebecca Thomas (aged 18), Pontypridd.
Sampler a wnaed ym 1865 gan Rebecca Thomas (18 mlwydd oed), Pontypridd.
Canvas ground embroidered with coloured wools in cross stitch. Border of wavy stem with leaves and buds. At top is the maker's inscription 'Rebcca (sic) Thomas Age 18 Pontypidd (sic) / 1865.' Upper part: detached floral, bird and crown motifs, mostly in pairs. Lower part: large motif of church with flock of tiny bird motifs above.
