Full title - Slates and Slabs.
Prices and particulars of slates of the ‘Bettws-y-Coed Slate Co.’ (Hafodlas Quarry), Betws y Coed, dated 1906. The prices given are for machine dressed ‘Portmadoc blue slates’ in various sizes (ranging from 24’’ x 14’’ to 10’’ x 6’’), and of various quality (‘best’, ‘medium’, and ‘second’ quality slates). Prices of slate slabs, ‘damp course’ slates, ridge roll, and blue wings are also provided. The price list is printed on light green card, is folded down the centre, and has a metal staple on spine. The donor’s family were timber merchants in Taunton, Somerset. They supplied timber and slate to local builders and merchants, and as a result acquired a collection of slate price lists.
