Trunk

Travelling trunk belonging to Robert William Roberts of Llanberis who emigrated to the United States on board the RMS Lusitania, landing in New York on 16 January 1911. The trunk was used by Robert William Roberts during the journeys to and from the United States.

Robert William Roberts stayed at New York with a Welsh-speaking Welshman before traveling to Vermont and Chicago. From there he went on to Idaho, and settled in a small village called New Wallce, Shoshore on the outskirts of the town of Kellogg. He worked there as a forester and carpenter. He returned to Wales on board the RMS Mauretania in 1922.
