A Welsh Folk Museum Answer Book, 1959, received from The Rev. D. Jacob Davies from Alltyblaca, Lampeter (1916-1974) containing notes on 'Y Ceffyl Pren', stories about local characters, ballads, counting fingers and various verses. Answer Books were sent out by the Welsh Folk Museum in 1958 to individuals across Wales as a way of collecting and documenting information on aspects of folk culture in their areas, including agriculture, crafts, food, customs and dialects. The responses were hand-written in the books. The Answer Books had a similar purpose to the earlier questionnaires sent out in 1937.
