Tailor's drawing book, about 1915. Owned by David Thomas, Borth, Cardiganshire (later Cross Inn, New Quay).
Hard cover red sketch book with plain pages. Contains hand-drawn technical sketches of various garment types - presumably made by David Thomas when an apprentice student at the Tailor and Cutter Academy in London, 1915.
David Thomas originally trained as an apprentice tailor at Bow Street with the Edwards family. He later attended the Tailors and Cutters Academy, where he studied for his diploma. However, he was unable to establish his own business in his home village of Borth because the terms of his apprenticeship prohibited him from working within an eight-mile radius of the Edwards family's premises.
