Pollard, William (1803 - 1854)
Plate, bone china with greenish white translucency, second gadroon shape, tapering foot ring, the profile of the sides a double convex curve, the rim gadroon-moulded and divided into six lobes; decorated in overglaze enamels with a spray of wild flowers (white 'burrow' rose, pink bindwell, speedwell, etc.) in the centre and scattered in a continuous band round the rim and side of the well (honeysuckle, foxglove, michaelmas daisy, red campion, purple heather, bluebell, forget-me-not, etc.), the gadroons gilded with a dentil band on their inner edge.
